Interdisciplinary marine Engineering Research and Industrial Training

The NSERC CREATE grant iMERIT  is based at Dalhousie University, the University of New Brunswick, the University of Prince Edward Island and Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. The iMERIT grant program brings together researchers, innovators and professionals from academia, industry, professional organizations and government agencies to carry out research and training in marine technology, to address challenges of ocean exploration and to facilitate trainees’ smooth transition from university education into an industrial career.

The Pacific Rim Ocean Data Mobilization and Technology (PRODIGY) training program will bridge the fields of oceanography, geophysics, computer science and statistics, harnessing new ocean observing technologies, data science and visualization tools to support ocean observation, prediction and knowledge mobilization.

SEED

Sustainable Electronics and Eco-Design

CREATE SEED will train a new generation of Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) with a value-added experience in terms of an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together: chemistry, chemical engineering, engineering physics, (eco)toxicology, electronic circuit design, hardware engineering, systems analysis, social sciences of the media, environmental economics, sustainable value chains and business models; professional skills in teamwork, communication, management, decision making and leadership.
